Media Centre Visits
Here are some pictures from our media centre visit. First stop was electric works in Sheffield. Fantastic 'Club' facility, great furniture and a huge slide - in an office!

Heter Skelter!!

Next stop was round foundry in Leeds. Lots of reclaimed materials and a great sense of heritage in this 'urban village'. Oh, and lots of media companies!!

News! May 2009
A look back at May 2009 for JayJay Media.
We began the month in a bacon factory learning all about the mass-production of high-quality bacon. Take us to a supermarket and we can show you the best bacon on the shelves - and tell you all about the man who cures it!

--
May also saw the launch of Humberside Police's Lifestyle 2009 project. The glittering event was hosted by the BBC's Caroline Davies and saw the première of our brand new Lifestyle video. You can see the video here (be sure to click on the HD tab for best quality image).
--
We were out and about with the Regional Roads Policing Team too. The weather in West Yorkshire was dreadful but we got the shots we needed and created a number of great little programmes.

--
Our association with Hull Truck continued, filming rehearsals and the first night of 'Confessions of a City Fan.' The first night was immense fun with most of the Hull City team in attendance to see this great play. Phil Brown was so impressed he mentioned it in his pre-match press conference which led to JayJay footage being used on Setanta Sports news.

--
May was also awards season, which saw Jon in his best suit at the CiB Awards. Viewpoint, a programme produced for Smith & Nephew, was a finalist in the visual communication category. It was a fab night hosted by Hugh Dennis, and (pop the Champagne!) Viewpoint walked away with an Award of Excellence!!!

--
And if that wasn't enough, we completed projects for Smith & Nephew, Croda Chemicals Europe, BAE Systems and East Riding Council. Plus our website was launched, which can be visited at www.jayjaymedia.tv

News - March/April 2009
As Henry Kelly used to say, we're playing catchup, so it's double helpings with two months in one!
March was a busy month for us. We completed the induction DVD for Northumberland County Council - 22 interviews, over 40 locations spread across 10 days. We filmed from Berwick on the Scottish border down to Newcastle with locations including the Baltic, Alnwick Gardens, a cattle market, schools, factories, mines, castles and in the shadow of St. James Park. The final programme was delivered in 21 sections, running in total for over 1 hour 30 minutes and supplied with and without subtitles. Here’s some highlights:
--
Meanwhile, Joe found time to head off to Tossa Del Mar in Spain for a week with a group of film students from Essex. Working as an industry expert, Joe mentored groups of students in the art of filming making.

--
Jon and Joe also directed and filmed East Riding Council’s BusWise DVD for Eon Media. This hard-hitting programme was co-written by Jon with Hull Truck’s Nick Lane, and is being edited at the moment.

--
JayJay also created all the on-screen content for the new Hull Truck Theatre’s foyer information screens. A mixture of graphics, clips of plays, rehearsal footage and glimpses behind the scenes is mixed with short programmes about their work with education, new play writing and the youth theatre. JayJay were also on hand at the gala opening nights – relying live footage to the screens throughout the theatre and also to the BBC Big Screen.

--
We’ve been out and about with the Police too, filming the Lifestyle 2009 promo featuring Viking FM’s Sam Heywood, actor Martin Barrass, a couple of police motorcycles and loads of kids.

--
Our chemical industry graduate recruitment film is nearing completion after filming on-site in North Yorkshire and on-location at an activity centre in Derbyshire

--
Also keeping us busy in March and April were projects for Smith & Nephew, DePuy, BAE and the Queen’s visit to Hull...

News - February 2009
Hello and welcome to the world of JayJay Media.
Phew! February was one busy month for JayJay Media. We began with two snowy weeks in Northumberland where we filmed some great people and captured fantastic locations. The snow may have stopped many, but it didn't prevent us getting (most of) the shots we wanted, even if one or two days were cut short due to blizzard conditions (see photo!)
The Northumberland job went straight into post-production, and we're currently revising the first rough edit.
We also spent time on a graduate recruitment programme, filming all kinds of exciting lab experiments and interviewing previous graduates.
JayJay also filmed the latest Norwegian evacuation and lifebelt technology, a team briefing for podcast style distribution and rounded off the month with a shoot in London by the banks of the Thames!
If that wasn't all we're busy in pre-production with work for Humberside Police's Lifestyle 2009 project and writing and designing a bus safety programme with Eon Media for East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
And finally, we're pleased to be associated with Hull Truck's brand new theatre, where we'll be providing all on-screen content for the plasma screens in their bars and foyers.
See you at the opening night!
